Incisive foramen (Nasopalating foramen)
- Oral opening of nasopalatine canals.
- Carries nasopalatine vessels and nerves.
- Midline of anterior maxilla behind central incisors at junction of median palatal and incisive sutures.
- Solitary radiolucency between centrals.
- Usually indistinct border, but may be well-defined.
- Oval or round.
- May appear heart-shaped if anterior nasal spine is superimposed.
- Must distinguish from inflammatory disease around incisor roots.
