- Gingival margin of alveolar process extending between teeth.
- Appears as a radiopacity at superior aspect of alveolar process.
- In health, it is no more than 2.0 mm apical to CEJ.
- Pointed structure in anterior teeth, flat in posterior areas.
- Continuation of lamina dura.
